Intimate partner violence is the type of violence that revolves around the aggression meted out towards partners in a relationship and are typical of close relationships. It could be former or current partners, but there has been definitely a history of an intimate relationship between them and can be extended to both married and unmarried partners (Gosselin, 2019). The case described surely has an intimate partner violence angle to it, and even though Cindy’s husband Jim has been aggressive and violent towards her only once, yet it is a case of relationship abuse between intimate partners.
